  • Nice warn up exercise. Now can you play any Tchaikovsky?

  • Yes, "we" can!

  • good but u really need to swing stop reading it from the paper put your own swing feel to it at the moment it too mechanical :/

  • I played it to the original composition and I did not want to make an own interpretation, as this was my first boogie at all, at that time. so, I was happy just to be able to play it. In general: classic music - as boogie is nowadays - does not need new interpretation imho. it is good enough in its own ;-). syncopated keys, as you played, the character changes. the original boogie and ragtime never was allowed to have swing, although: good boogie gives us a swing feeling.

  • nice man great stuff.

  • no ragtime was straight rythm boogie woogie was always swung it type of blues lol

  • Great job, as even approximating the great Pete Johnson's style is a serious endeavor and challenge!

Pete and Albert were so into it, you can see they must've spent hours, days, weeks, and years to reach the level of playing they accomplished: i.e. to play so freely and confidently. Boogie players make up a lick or two or their own along the way. Johnson & Ammons played long enough to establish styles and characteristic sounds in their playing.

Anybody'd be happy to play this piece!!

  • The truist rendition I have ever witnessed. All my life I wanted to know the mysteries of Pete Johnson's playing and you have revealed them to me...THANK YOU
