  • Hi Very helpful , I wish you would upload more 

I have a question in regards to the MS Project 2010 Gantt Chart. There is abehavior that I can not explain.I have a project that have the tasks fixed Duration and they are not effort driven, Now when I assign a resource to a task, and the resource is on holiday during that time (exception), sometimes project gives me a warning that is going to adjust the duration and sometimes it doesn’t!would you know why?

    I would apreciate your time

  • Hi. My first thought is to check each task to see if the "Scheduling ignores Resource Calendars" box is checked or not. Double click the task to open the Task Information box. Click the Advanced tab. Look on the right for the box to set/unset Scheduling ignores Resource Calendars. Otherwise, feel free to email me the schedule itself. My email address is on the SirGanttalot Channel page.

  • Hi, is it possible to do report with two filters, for instance if I want to filter certain tasks within certain period of time, is that possible? Thanks a lot

  • Yes, click Project > Filtered for > and select the Date Range filter. You will then be prompted to enter the two dates you want to use to "bracket" the tasks you want to display. Let me know if you need more help.

  • We are using Microsoft Project Server and find that when a resource enters actual hours under "My tasks" in PWA that the number of actual hours entered changes in the project depending on the task type chosen. Should this happen???

  • What version of Project Server are you using, 2007? Are you ending up with strange decimal hours that were not enterred by the resource? There are possible areas to research here, but the first step is to make sure that your server environment and also you clients are all at the latest Service Pack and Hotfix/Update level. I would be happy to look at some specific examples if you want to message or email me.
