I always thought that "the hair" was a GREAT gimmick, something like all those crazy costumes she and LaBelle wore back in the 70's...but when you have a VOICE like that, you really dont need one. If she had ever walked out on stage, bald and buck naked, I would be one of the ones who would not have blinked, because I dont come to see Patti with all the hair and nice clothes. I come for one reason, and that's to hear her sing.
