black rapid (RS dr-1) review part 1: first 5 minutes (impressions)

recieving something as simple as a camera strap, i am surprised i need a large number of instructions and cant figure it out within the first 5 minutes. yet this thing gets fantastic reviews all over the internet. maybe in video 2 i will have seen the light.

Hello people! This is a review of the first 5 minutes. I am not here to promote or sell this expensive stuff. This is the first of a series of vids. Better to be pessimistic and pleasantly surprised than falsely perceive greatness and promote crap then look like a sponsored twat

Im totally agreeing with you Dom!!

A lot of those people who are loving this strap, are mostly Jared Polin followers...and yeah if you look at Mr. Polins review vids and the comments below..you might get an idea that this is an awesome strap, BUT never forget poeple: Jared always deletes negative comments (critisicm) from his videos!!! And since he gets supported by BlackRapid, I m 100% sure Dom gives his real own opinion abut this strap rather than Jared!

Nice video dom. Why so many dislikes it seems no one on youtube is allowed an opinion. Granted you didnt get to now the strap first but you said a follow video would be up. And this was just an unboxing and first thoughts. i think people just want to hear what they want to hear and dont want to hear bad things about something they bought.

@34TR3m I disagree, if Dom had taken the time to actually use it before reviewing he would see its potential and how useful it is. Its a camera strap! Its really not that complicated and MUCH more comfortable than the crappy OEM straps...especially for a big guy like me.

This video and 200+ responses are jokes, are they not? That tripod thing you were talking about is a quick release plate. I'd rate the humor a three (3) and entertainment a six (6). LOL

Dom, agree with you. Price is ridiculous and I use the camera strap over my shoulder, secure, not a problem. It's like the dragon's den stuff - trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. I would never buy it either! Thumb me if you agree guys.

@Dombowerphoto I would agree with you IF the strap came with 2 ends that only attached to the camera.. but it doesn't.

I think your review/opinion would have carried more weight IF you hadn't done the whole confused thing, although interestingly you do make some valid observations... which are lost in the video

It's funny how everybody think that people only buy RS straps because they have seen them on fro's videos. I bought my RS7 before Fro videos and I have really liked it.

Dom... this is not a review this is just trying to make product look bad from the beginning to the end without even trying to use it properly.

Keep doing what your doing Dom. I'm subscribed to several other photographer-related channels like yours. Most of who I will be unsubscribing from soon(some of which I can see right now on the "Suggestions" section to the right of your video haha).

The differences between them and yourself are that your opinions, reviews, & tips don't seem to be driven by advertisements or retailers looking to pay up for a good word.
