National Preparedness Month 2011 Kickoff in Philadelphia

Mayor Michael A. Nutter proclaims the start of National Preparedness Month 2011 in the City of Philadelphia on September 2 at Target, 7400 Bustleton Avenue.

In order to help citizens prepare, the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management has a series of emergency preparedness events scheduled throughout the city in September. They have also partnered with the American Red Cross, Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter, to bring Emergency Preparedness Workshops to the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA). Target has also sponsored nearly 200 emergency kits that will be distributed to PHA residents during those workshops.
