Katanga Canyon - Alton Towers Resort

The African settlement built in the middle of Alton Towers, Katanga Canyon is an adventurous area allowing visitors to explore the wild. The two rides in Katanga Canyon are The Runaway mine train and the Congo River Rapids, each of them explores the area via a different route.

The area has its own shop called The Katanga Cargo Company, this sells Alton Towers merchandise and many other jungle goodies. And for food in Katanga Canyon there is a KFC and Pizza Hut. You can either have a take-away meal, or sit down in the restaurant. Menu's are the same as the high street chains and so are the prices. The area has a picnic area and also a games stall to keep all amused.

i prefered the old red boats with the high back seats! they just looked more impressive in my opinion and i used to work as an ice skater in the ice shows at the towers from 1991-1996

me and my mate samz and some other mates went on congo river rapids we where going cheers me darling every time it splashed us!!! lool

waited 3 hours to get on the river rapids. and some kid had pished the seat.

Ditto! I went with my family and one of my best friends, and she got a load of water over her head. I laughed, but then got absolutely bloody drenched!

HA HAAA, I Love this ride me and my mates always go on it like first when we go with school so the seat's arn't wet, im going again this tuesday with school, can't wait.

(It's funny how it says don't stand up but when the waterfall's come most of us run to the middle!)
