@ActorSinger51 She has talked about when she was younger, she had a Jersey accent, and so going into broadway she didn't want to sound like she was from Jersey so she had this weird kind of affected british accent. love Laura is shew is fabulous and as much as I love Rodgers and Hammerstein and their musicals the sound of music has never captured my attention but I'll learn to love it

Is English not Laura's first language? She has a faint accent here that I don't notice in Gypsy or Into the Woods.

maybe because of the broken neck thing - during the procedure they had to move her vocal cords to the side for 3 hours!
