My 15 Seconds on "Mythbusters"

In January 2006, War was beginning...

Oh, wait...wrong video...

I was one of 7 contestants (as told to me by Peter Rees himself) for the Mythbusters' Mail Bag competition in July of 2005. January 2006 was when the episode "Archimedes Burn-Off" (Episode 46) aired. I was not chosen to go to San Francisco, but part of my efforts were aired in the opening minutes of the episode.

And no, I wasn't aware of this until my friend Sharon (aka sas) called and informed me that I was on Mythbusters. It was a pleasant surprise, but I was blissfully unaware that my effort (or lack thereof) even made it to air.

In fact, if you happen to catch a rerun of Episode 46, you will see every fan who entered this contest within the first 15 minutes.

It's sad, really...the hundreds of thousands of other so-called "fans" on the DCMB have big mouths and don't think twice about taking the Mythbusters to task over myths that they claim to be experts on...yet most of them can't even string together enough words to form a coherent sentence.

And then, a mere 7 REAL FANS decided to take part in the contest and try to prove or disprove this particular myth?

As I've said once before:

IF YOU DIDN'T ENTER THE COMPETITON, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT, DO YOU?

Thought not.
