Taking your hands off the bike is your best bet of survival though. If you're holding on to it in a crash, youre absorbing the bike's impact in your arms which will practically shatter every bone at that speed. Think about it, 170 - 0 mph in a quarter second will kill you.

I might be wrong because I don't know this man personally but I think he took his hand off the "handle bars" because he lost control well before he hit the wall so he didn't break both his wrist and arms with the impact! I'm into any racing which ever machine u pick, it's the race it's self that's exciting not what you do it on.
