Occupy Wall Street - 1 Marine vs. 30 Cops (Marine Wins)

United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to toe with the New York Police Department. An activist in the Occupy Wall Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement.

Thomas is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran (2 tours in Iraq), he currently plays amateur football and is in college.

Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country: Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty (Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand Father Navy veteran (World War II).

We all hate war, but the point of this video is to show that even if the cops are easily bought off and can be turned against us, it's not likely going to happen with the Marines. Marines take an oath to defend the constitution, and despite the fact that they do kill people out of their ignorance, they're smart enough to know there's no way to justify harming unarmed civilians of their own country. You can't declare Martial Law if the military won't enforce it.

I don't see what cops do to deserve this kind of attention. Just doing their jobs. If there was some kind of emergency (like a robbery taking place), then people would rely on them to put their life on the line.

He says at one point to the cops that if they want to "hurt and kill people, they should go to Iraq". Is that what he was doing overseas? More likely he was in the rear fixing vehicles or counting toilet paper rolls. I highly doubt that his parents also did tours in Iraq. Disgrace to the USMC. Ooh rah!
