@RobertMOdell: Possible. Come from Tahoe, so was not prepared for lack of planning. I was going through OR in 2004. It could have been that the plows didn't sand, or that I was ahead of the plows.

@DosForbezaPorFavor Actually, they sand the major roads here during bad storms. I presume the wipers are on high to get clear video shots.

Oregon's cool until you fishtail across the freeway, in 4wd, going 15 mph. Why? Found out they don't salt or sand the roads. God Bless Oregon!
