How to make Awesome Lightning Effects in Paint.NET

I. How to get gradient mapping
Go to this website:

Drag both files into the "effects" folder of your Paint.NET foler, probably in the C:\ Drive or whatever.

Hello! This video will show you
How to Make a sick Lightning Bolt
Effect in Paint.NET

Hello!

FOR THIS VIDEO YOU WILL NEED THE
GRADIENT MAPPING DLL!!!
I WILL SAY HOW TO GET THIS IN THE
DESCRIPTION! I'm not going to stop
for a long time at these
instructions, so pause the video at
these times.

Preperation:
Make a New image.

STEP 1 : GRADIENT
(Colors: Black and White)
(Use the first gradient, not the
circle or diamond ones)
Go from left to right.

Step 2 : Clouds
(Blend Mode: Difference*)
(SCALE: 1000)
(ROUGHNESS: 0.50)
*You could also use negation, but I
do not use this in the tutorial.
Using negation will cause undesired
results.

Step 3 : CURVES
!!!IMPORTANT!!!
USE THESE COORDINATES:
(32 ,222) ... (44 , 124) ... and (192, 63)

Step 4 : Give the image a SEPIA tone

Step 5 (Last) : GRADIENT MAPPING
Use Blue, Red, then Yellow all dragged towards the right and
evenly spaced.

And there you go!
If you don't like the way this looks, experiment with the gradient mapping tool. I call this version the flame vortex: (hold on...)

You might like this "Flame Vortex" more. Try it out.

Thank you very much very cool effect. What I thought was cool was changing the clouds to negative instead of difference like you mentioned and then you are able to have 1 big lightning bolt instead of having 1 split down the center if you know what I mean. Thanks!
