@zethaw Ahhh get the fuck over your eagle, the harpy eagle is way better than the philippine eagle and atleast it isn't in danger of being extinct unlike the philippine eagle.

@tintin8ify - NOPE! SORRY BUT You can NEVER get the true potential strength of an eagle by using a bite force or scale device.. IT is FAR DIFFERENT from a struggling and sometimes fighting back prey esp. large prey which will fights for it's life and give all it got; the bird gets excited the adrenalin rush kicks-in to hold it's powerful grip more stronger as compare to a lifeless or non-moving measuring device!

As compared their prey takings in the wild.. Philippine eagle is a lot Powerful!!

Philippine eagle does not have the LONGEST wingspan among eagles BECAUSE It's a Forest eagle a type of eagle evolved to fly and hunt on thick forests! Their wings are short in length or wingspan for their size as compared to soaring eagles like Steller's and Golden eagle etc with rounded edge wings and a long tail for quick turn and maneuverability in dense forest It has the largest wing-surface area among eagles meaning the BROADEST capable of strong powerful lift than any other eagles.

Philippine eagles NEVER really had a large population like other large eagles they are TRULY RARE and are Highly regarded for their uniqueness, power and beauty almost every zoo in the world wants to have this eagle!

Even the English explorer who discovered this eagle had missed it in his first expedition; He returned to the PHILIPPINES in 1896 to replenish his specimen collected w/c was lost on a fire and later found this eagle dubbed as the MOST REMARKABLE specimen of all his discoveries!

@tintin8ify - NOPE! You can TRULY Gauge their strength thru the prey items that they take in the wild and brought up to their nest to feed on! Eagle's grip strength varies! It depends on the needed force, type and size of prey they attack Philippine eagle has the heaviest load of prey taken up to it's nest.. the LARGEST on record up to it's nest a 30 lb deer; and also large snakes such as python and cobra.

Harpy's largest prey taking to nest was a 17lb howler monkey & a 15 lb Two-toed sloth!

Harpy weighs 18 lb on AVERAGE and Philippine eagle weighs 17 lb NOT almost half as you were saying and Philippine eagle has the broadest wings among all eagle specie! like d Harpy It's also a FOREST eagle w/ short broad wing for maneuverabilit,&larger beak.

Based on their documented prey takings in the wild Philippine eagle has more impressive large prey takings as compared to Harpy eagle so It's MORE POWERFUL than Harpy eagle!
