This was recorded at a small public swimming area near the bridge at Board's Crossing near Arnold, California. The bridge crosses the North Fork of the Stanislaus River on what used to be called Board's Crossing Road but now is called Hell's Half Acre Road. The easiest way to get there is to take (the NEW) Board's Crossing Road (NF5N02) at Dorrington, then take NF5N76 (a very rocky dirt road) down to where it meets Hell's Half Acre Road and turn right. The bridge is about 100 yards from the junction. Go left on Hell's Half Acre Road to get to the OLD Board's Crossing Campground. This campground has taken out of service. It is free but there is no water or toilet. For some reason NF5N76 is NOT on any maps but it is easy to find because it is the FIRST right turn after you pass the Sourgrass Day Use Area. It is right before the Pavement Ends sign and there is a faint arrow painted on the road pointing down. You can reach the same area from Hell's Half Acre Road (NF5N75) but it is in VERY bad condition and unless you like four-wheeling on rocky terrain it's best to avoid it.

  • Can you get some shots of Beaver Creek and the stream crossing at the Griswold? I spend years of my life there and now live in NH...so far away but still etched in my heart.

  • I can understand why you'd remember this area because it is spectacular. I'm not sure where the area you mention is. If you can be more specific I'd be happy to try and get some video of the area the next time I head up there.

  • I was there the same weekend and through the week !!!! fricken fantastic .!!!

  • Yeah, it's a great area. I may get up there one more time this year before the rains start. I want to check out "Whittles Upper Camp" on nf-5N14. I was very close to there last trip but had no idea it was there so turned back when I hit the nf-6n90 junction. I also want to hike all the way to the end of Pine Needle Flat Trail out of Sourgrass Day Use. I got off trail near Little Rattlesnake Creek last time. Have any experience with those area? Any tips?

  • I'd love to toss a fly in that riffle. Size 16 yellow stimulator should do the trick.

  • I'm guessing she used a video camera that records in high definition and uses a format like MP4 or mpeg 2.

  • Last night, I watched BeckaOfSweden do a makeup tutorial really close up and I could actually see the details of her skin! Wonder what her secret is?

  • I'm really, really enjoying the photos on Webshots. One is my new wallpaper! You've inspired me so much. I've already plotted my next 3 photo locations.

  • That sucks!! You're right, of course - if you're going to shoot videos and you want really good quality ones, you need a video camera. Your camera is great for stills. My little nature video was annoying. I'm going back to photos (and using mostly my own next time) and my only other video will be about my weight loss.

  • I wish you could see the videos before the YouTube encoding messes them up and makes everything blurry. The water is as clear as glass.
