This video covers the basic bass minor pentatonic scale.

(Please excuse the fret buzz on the 7th fret of my D string it seems to be playing up.)

  • I watched another video and he played it like this but somebody said that theres only 5 notes in pentatonic scales are they wrong or whats d story?

  • I wondered this too when I was first starting out. Here is how it works...

A pentatonic scale does only have 5 notes...

You play those 5 and then start again.

So In the video I play:

A, C, D, E, G and then the next note is 7th fret D string which is an A again. Next note is C again and then D again and then we run out of strings. :-)

    I hope that helps?

  • hang on.., so, ur playin the major scale where u run outa strings? coz the minor scale only has five notes??

  • I'm playing the Minor Pentatonic Scale again when I get to the octave.

    :-)

  • good lesson i'm lefty basist
