  • We miss the artistry and impeccable genius of the "behind the scenes" sound, lighting, camera, and total production work that was so fabulous in those days. The Carol Burnett Show was one of many stellar productions. Steve Lawrence's superb performance (and Nelson Riddle's arrangement) was captured brilliantly. I love You Tube. This is great! Thanks, wickedfan1IDINA!

  • Yeah, Steve is great...and the Nelson Riddle arrangement doesn't suck either!

  • Wonderful! I bought a $5 cd at Wal Mart of Neil Diamond singing with Elmer Bernstein and he does a great version of this.

  • Nelson's arrangement sounds better here than it did of the version they recorded on the album

  • Sing to me Steve. Great performance of such a beautiful, classic song. Thanks.

  • I'm looking for a musical number from the Carol Burnett show's ninth season called "Tribute to Glenn Miller", also with Steve Lawence. If anyone here can upload it'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Nice version, but the best I've heard is by the late Eddie Fisher, who by the way preceded Steve as the army's official singer.

  • @Russell230870 Sinatra did this and was simply marvelous..as this is too

  • saw him live with eydie and old blue eyes in 1990 they were a class act thanks for posting this

  • Smooooooooooooooooooth!

  • God, I loved this guy when he was cranking out tunes for Coral, sailing big with Brill Building writers on Columbia, kicking major league butt on United Artists, and making great vocal work sound so damn effortless. For a major star, he has got to be one of the most underrated singers in the history of pop music.
