Hanka Ordonówna - Ja wiem (I Know), c. 1934

I don't know when exactly this side was recorded. This song, though having quite catchy music and nice simple words - never became a hit. So now it belongs to the conoisseur's club of the real rarities (especially, that the music and lyrics were written PERSONALLY by an authentic pre- - war Polish Prinz - Sapieha!).

The song says about the parting, which Ordonowna is guessing from her lover's eyes. "The fire in your eyes is getting off - she sings - so I know at once that today I see you for the last time".

From the style of Ordonówna's singing and the kind of her accompaniament I gues this Syrena-Electro recording must have been made around 1934.

I love Ordonka and this is probably my favourite of all the songs of hers I've heard. Sadly, it's almost impossible to get anything of her here in the US.
