Berle, Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie, and Dame Edna were all doing the drag act before RuPaul got his raging untalented ass known.

@steveconn Berle was celebrated during his prime and revered as he got older. RuPaul will have the same. Ru is the first popular black drag personality and America will remember that.
His shit television show has people watching. I don't see your comedy routine on network television.

Berle, as legendary as he was, based his humor off degrading women and lame dick jokes. He was rude and sexually accosted Ru backstage, and was incredibly inappropriate with him. Why is it okay for Berle, the old man, to mop the floor with Ru, a queen, but not the other way around? Two people can most definitely make jokes at the other's expense, it's comedy. Another point- Ru is currently more famous than ever, with an extremely successful show (just renewed for a 4th season) and a spinoff.
