Zozimus - Michael J. Moran was born circa 1794 in Faddle Alley off the Black Pits in Dublin's historic Liberties and lived in Dublin all his life. He was a blind bard who performed in Dublin.

Who was Zozzie Mus he refers to in the song?

I have no idea, we were there for business purposes, but the O 'Neill's bar was awful, and I was really disappointed.

He has two pubs in New York. He sold one of them.

Paddy's in New York now, isn't he? i read he has a pub there... that he had a pub called Paddy Reilly's but he sold it... (that I don't understand! selling a pub that bears your own name!) ... pity he's an expat... his voice brings visions of Ireland to my brain...i grew up on his music...I'll bet I was hearing it from the womb and maybe that's partly why i love it so much... when i was 7ish my parents were going to see him at a pub but wouldn't bring me (silly reasons) and it still makes me sad

paddy reilly is such a great singer...pity he don't gets the same credit as luke kelly and ronnie drew (who were also brilliant)
