Classic track. Delroy Wilson did a good one, too, and Eric "Monty" Morris with Byron Lee & the Dragonaires, among many others. Similar evolution to the Maytones' cover of 'Brown Girl in the Ring', where "Come kiss your master" becomes "Show me your lover." 'Brown Girl in the Ring' is slightly newer, but 'Sammy No Dead' is something like two centuries old. Cheers for posting.
