Many years ago, I had this album, signed... Some Cunt stole it.. Not Happy..

It's worth noting that Mr Floppy were basically a comedy/satire band. And a good one, at that. Saw em a bunch of times around Melbourne...

I remember I was engaged to a girl and her parents came over for the big "we're sort of married now come over for dinner thing" - I put a mix tape on, but forgot it had "Noonan" on it...
I freaked the fuck out but just prayed they weren't listening rather than dive for the stereo like a manic and draw attention to it. No idea if they 'heard' it or no but those of you who know the song probably got a chuckle out of my anecdote. :)
Oh yeah, and I love this song too!

Still remember Tim and his outrageous whackiness, hope he is well in some nice trippy dimension somewhere out there in the universe, harvesting karma......meh.

This is still one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

@pandaeyes42 Lubricated Goat, the band that most people only know of through those handful of times their In The Raw video was played on rage. I would have liked to have seen them.

Very cool, so many years since I've heard Mr. Floppy. Big smile on face now. Thanks!

This is the best ever cover of this song!

Oh yes. Glad, very glad you posted this up.
I remember it played on JJJ at the time. Fun.
Utah Saints - Something Good.
I never heard this version back in the day, just Breakfast.

This was on their last album (and probably their most sold album from what I can gather). It did get allot of air play on some stations. I was listening to RRR mostly at the time which I recall were still playing MR Floppy's other popular tunes (I recall 100000 Morrisseys & Homebrew were popular tunes on RRR for a number of years). Triple J were playing Wuthering Heights allot at the time.

I checked out Angra's version, not bad but lacks some spice. Could not be bothered listening to Angra version all the way through, I just restarted the tune a few times and gave up. they have a good sound though. They really know they genre but lacks a little something. It's like they are on the edge of breaking free but are holding back. They are certainly fine musicians.

It's the final stages of the Angra version that you want to listen to... I agree they seem a little stilted, but the guitars are unleashed a little towards the end...

hmmm. thanks. I listened again a few times but still yet to hear a good cover version. Their other tunes seriously rock. I'm going for the live tracks now. Andre certainly knows how to sing. I think I rather listen to their other tunes. I would have not have spent time listening to them if it was not for this thread, thanks for sharing. I do like them. Their wuthering heights cover still does not grab me though.
