They don't make charming children's movie's like this any more. And they certainly don't find stars like Danny Kaye, Gene Kelly and Doris Day any more either :(. I was clearly born into the wrong generation! Too much focus on special effects and not on acting or storyline these days :(

That is to ask if the God of actors, Hermes or Mercury in the Roman is gay. Is Apollo, Zeus, or even King David from the Hebrew Bible gay with his love for Johnathan? By the way, a macho guy can also be a jerk as well.

Oooh I agree! I had a drama student ask if Danny Kaye was gay (also Shakespeare, Homer and Walt Whitman). My answer was "Were they gay? Is Batman a cross dresser? Who knows? Who cares?"

Yeah these were the greats! Now a days it's to much special effects and action. Bad actors with no extraordinary talents Like Kaye, Kelly and Day. Dick Van Dyke was great too. Loved him in Mary Poppins. Actors back then had to be multitalented. Looks and attitude were not enough. They were in a completely different league then the actors of today.

I think Danny Kaye and Dick Van Dyke would have made a great team in a movie.

I particularly enjoyed Danny and Bing Crosby's musical number as stand-in's for the girls in White Christmas. Der Bingle mit der Dingle! Uh . . . woops!

Gotta love a good joke that goes RIGHT over the kids' heads. But the adults get it, lol.
