@plantmanbarry best movies from my childhood were his movies!! Purple Pimpernel, Walter Mitty etc... he is hilarious!!! Without being crude. Odd concept these days!!!

All I'm gonna say is this, he was fully straight and very talented.

I just blew my father's mind with the magic of YouTube.
We were talking about Hans Christian Anderson, and he was saying how he rememered this song. So I got on my iPod, looked it up, and in two minutes we were watching Hans sing again.
Ah, memories.

The man is a legend, that's all there is too it :) He always makes me smile, never been matched in today's cinematic climate, and don't think he ever will be.

@belindaw the magical world of movies are not the reality - look at what year that movie was made and look at the newspapers form same period. :)
but i love those movies too.
p.s people are less servile and brainwashed today then at that time.. or so i tihink..

@PirateWolf18 It's actually at about 2:17: "the queen came, and she was VER....told very quickly....." He stuck "very" in a couple words too soon! They didn't bother to overdub it.....

They don't make charming children's movie's like this any more. And they certainly don't find stars like Danny Kaye, Gene Kelly and Doris Day any more either :(. I was clearly born into the wrong generation! Too much focus on special effects and not on acting or storyline these days :(
