The sin of the father upon the child right?
Well let me say as non Christian I would say the only thing one can apologize for is well something you self did. Yes Christianity has been a tool to get people to do atrocious things. It has been used in political ways [like it still is today] to do much evil.
Haven't believers forgotten "Put none before me?" .. and yet they are so willing to vote for certain people "because they are good Christians"
Don't worry.. we understand.

These things may be done in the name of God, but most of the people doing them are not Christians. Some are deceived, but most are just using the Lord's name for their own personal agendas. I have a lot of things of which to be ashamed, from which Christ has set me free, but I will not apologize for the works of the deceivers and the deceived, because I am not one of them. These people will have to answer to the Lord for using His name in vain. CHRISTIANS are set free by the blood of Christ.
"I would say the only thing one can apologize for is well something you self did" And that is the exact point of this campaign. We wore shirts that simply said I am sorry. And we would tell people who asked why we were sorry what we have done personally in the name of God that we probably shouldnt have

The point of this campaign is to apologize for the things you have done in his name or just as a Christian, so say judging someone before you even knew them. putting someone down, Lusting after someone, all these things are hypocritical. These people said they were Christians whether they are or not is not the point. The point is to apologize to those who have been affected by it. And to tell people we as Christians dont support some of what has been done "in the name of god"
