  • Allen Ginsberg has changed the face of poetry and America, I had the chance to met him in Paris in 1994, he was very humble and charismatic in same time, he was definitively the disciple of Trungpa rimpoche and I will never forget him singing "father death blues" with his indian harmonium.. He was really a genius

like Rimbaud or Walt Whitman. I know he wrote a letter to bill clinton before he died, it was full of good advices ! Allen Ginsberg's death is a terrible loss for humanity and freedom.

  • @rabmunch

Burroughs rapped children? Maybe he offered them candy and they had sex willingly. Don't be such a prude.

  • Quit being pretentious. Youths without education following poets such as Kerouac, Burroughs and Ginsberg are better off than youths unexposed to any form of literary or poetic art. Let poets speak of all things nasty, violent, and low class ... I'd rather hear raw poems than those that still try to hold on to the ignorant, constructed ideas of our reality. Take your pretentiousness elsewhere.

  • The Beatniks discovered the cult of Onanism in America.

Now it has transformed into Pornocracy!

And the whole commercial democratic world is teeming with them!

It is true that their ethos has been tempered for the herd, but they were the ugly forbearers of that herd. Who has any idea what I am talking about? "What is a star?" they ask - and they blink......

  • I see you adulate Burroughs. These men were infused with the spirit of the gutter. They posed as prophets, & youths without any education followed them. The poisoned a whole generation. The 50's prepared the youth for that degradation. Bourgeois emptiness, followed by resentment, malice, vindictiveness, coarse desire, & low class sentimentality. I speak prosaically here; I would actually rather just insult you, as that is probably what you deserve.

  • Well spoken. It is clear you are ignorant of art or meaning or anything beyond obeying.

  • Good one. I did an identical one in January. I like yours better.

  • Like the use of Nick Drake.
