These videos are the only way we know what is going on in Prattsville. Can someone video the actual people in town so we can be assured that they are ok? Specifically I am worried about Bob and Ginny Gurley and Stella Cross. Thanks!

Anyone knows for sure if the 42 notch is open??? or 214... or the Bridge in Lexington is open??? Or Mosquito Point Bridge? RSVP…Part of 42 notch on Ulster side just got power & phone service back on 9/1 11;00 AM, heard have to go exit 20 and go up mountain...

42 is washed out. Going exit 21 thru catskill will get you there. I drove it myself.

I also have a weekend place near Prattsville. Can't believe the images. Is there anything we can do to help people? Material items for people that don't have them any longer? (Clothing etc..) Is anyone organizing an effort like this?We'd like to do what I can. Please post here if there is. Thanks

I spend a week every summer in a cabin up old ferris farm rd. I weep for your beautiful little town. Please don't despair. I know the measure of your citizens and you will rebuild and make old Zadock Pratt proud of you. God be with you.

@lmarie0529 we are all fine. homes and property can be rebuilt in maby a few more months to a year. about 85% of the town is gone but we are rebuilding. my house along with very few homes were not efected. i wish i could say the same for many of the town. i saw stella cross and she was fine. the physical damage is nothing to the emotional. we are getting better but town still lay in ruin thx 4 your concern.

I drive through this town on my way to my place in stamford two times a month. God bless everyone in this town I wish you all the best of luck. How long do you think until road is fixed up so people can drive up 23 and drop off supplies and continue going north or is this a very stupid ????? I heard town was in real bad shape.thanks

They started demolishing the buildings that can't be salvaged this week. Pastor Charlie and Pastor George from Huntersfield Christian Training Center (hctconline org) is in charge of the volunteer coordination (Great American by the trailers). They're seeking skilled volunteers to help actually rebuild the town if you're interested. They're also in need of construction material such as 2x6, sheathing, ect... So if you some xtra drop it off by the trailers, I'm sure it'll be put to good use

We were looking at an old house for sale in Prattsville. It is still standing and we are still considering buying it. I have made a donation and my husband and I plan to go up and help in Oct. my brother was traped in a house there i saw my daddy cry fro the first time ever b/c he thought he was going to lose is son i can't imgain what it was like to watch that water rise and watch other people's houses fall

All I have to say, is to all y'all...I am so sorry for what happened. A few members from my fire department (Millwood Fire Company) And some of our neighboring departments went up there on Sunday, 9-11-11..and all of us were just devastated. @shannonlee081509 So close, but yet so far. While I'm here I want to Thank everyone one who is keeping us informed on the progress in NY. I would love to go there and help out but the travel and lodging is out of the question. All Hotels and Motels are booked up solid. So accept my donation and Please let my money go to those who need it. And to the people of Prattsville and to all who were affected by this flooding, Beware of Scammers, and rebuild. Build strong and I pray to be there soon .
