Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin Wednesday delivered a rousing defense of her own record and endorsement of the party's candidate for president, Senator John McCain. The Alaska governor, facing criticism of her lack of national experience and questions about her family life, addressed the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota in her major speech before a national audience to rousing applause. In a night of partisan speeches, other party leaders defended the first woman the Republicans have chosen as a vice presidential candidate and launched blistering attacks of the Democrat.
