The Anti Tauro Golf Course is situated in the South of Gran Canaria. The paths of this nine-hole golf course lie gently embedded in a valley. The terrain is surrounded by rough lava formations and a sparse rocky landscape. The fairways are like rolled out carpets in the countryside. The grass edges run through the terrain as if cut out by a knife. Immediately thereafter you will find a stony sandy rough.Every hole on Anfi Tauro is a par 3. The often very short holes present an ideal opportunity to practise the short game on a course that has a passion for detail. This course has championship quality except that everything is a little smaller, shorter and manageable. The crunch here lies in the imbalance in the degrees of difficulties. Some holes are easily mastered by a beginner, others present a challenge to even the best golfer just to achieve par. It is an emotional seesaw. Do not despair if after an effortless birdie you then proceed to sink ball after ball in the rough. Do not doubt your capabilities but rather appreciate that this course offers holes for two classes of golfers that are miles apart. The course is divided in two by a canal. Four holes take you to the far back of the course, five holes lead you back again to the provisional clubhouse. The path guides you along a lovingly designed garden landscape. The abundance of blossoms complements the lush green and the brown rocks. The magnificent 9-hole course is only a foretaste of what is still to come on Anfi Tauro. An impressive championship course is under construction. If this is only similar in quality, then the valley of the city Mogan will become one of the leading addresses for golfing on Gran Canaria.
