@johngolden according to Wikipedia, Thalia Assuras had a contract with ABC news and then she left.

Thalia was a really nice babe. I remember her well from CITY-TV back in the 80s. The only reason I watched CITY news.

Thalia got her big break when Vic Phillips left Global to become a political press attache circa Fall 1987.
