Willie Nelson performs "Whiskey River" live at Farm Aid 2001: Concert for America in Noblesville, Indiana on September 29, 2001. Get this concert on DVD at: http://FarmAid.org/2001dvd
Held just 18 days after the September 11 attacks, the sold-out Farm Aid: Concert for America honored family farmers as a resource for the nation—strong farmers for a strong America.
Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp founded Farm Aid in 1985 and serve on the board of directors. The three agreed that family farmers were in dire need of assistance and decided to plan a concert for America.
Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's Board of Directors in 2001 to help further Farm Aid's mission of keeping family farmers on their land.
