Porsche 911 Restoration Intro

Welcome to my restoration of a 1968 Porsche 911. I am Peter Morgan and this is the first clip I recorded in my workshop back in May 2009. This sets the scene for the rebuild of the car. I live in the UK and I imported this car from Florida, USA in March 2009 as a derelict, non-runner.
I am no Spielberg, so apologies in advance for the quality of the camera work, but the main point of this is to share with you all the trials and tribulations, plus the fun of bringing a unique 911 back to life.

The great thing about a 911 is that you can drop virtually any other air-cooled 911 engine in there, providing you have the skills to modify the engine and gearbox mountings. The later cars that use the G50 gearbox need he most work. I did hear of somebody fitting a V8 in a 911 once. Not sure what that did to the weight distribution tho'. Rgds Peter.

Love those porsche specially 911. Peter my concern is that what kind of newer engine could you swap with it? How about some engine of different make?

the 912 is the same car just a smaller engine. you can change the engine to a 911 and add a dollar value of 3x the 912, then you can sell your 912 engine on the 356 registry.org for about $3K

Peter - love the videos. I'm just starting to restore a 1968 912. It's not nearly as ambitious but I'm following your lead. Well done
