    A question: How much did you train in the water (swimming pool) and how much outside the water (running, biking, walking, weigh lifting)? Congratulations again. Regards.

  • I trained for 6 months in a swimming pool and 2 months open water. In the pool I swam 3 to 4 times weekly and up to 25km a week and all of my open water swims were for a minimum of 3 hrs. I did no specific training out of water but I did have an extensive background in lifting weights!

  • Whytey, only just seen this, MG posted it to me. well done mate. i kayaked the channel earlier this year and from that experience have huge respect for anyone who's nuts and gutsy enough to try swimming it.
