FT is as pro Cuban American as it gets.. this statement was taken WAY out of context... listen to the rest of the speech and read his blogs. He calls Cuba's loss of citizens the USA's gain because he feels that Cuban Americans are great for this country. He fought in the senate to make sure they got asylum from Castro's regime.

Very much so, he was speaking out against Castro's agents spying and subversion that has been documented in the news. Not about the Cuban Americans he fought to give citizenship back when he was in the senate. FT is very pro Cuban American.

This is the most misused line from Fred... funny thing is he is so extremely supportive of Latino Americans who have made a point of fleeing dictatorships. He voted to see over one million to be allowed citizenship and be given asylum. Read his blogs, he explains how his words were twisted and owns the democrats that lied about him. Only someone with no idea about FT would actually think he was anti Cuban American.

Fred Thompson is a hypocrite. We would not have 12 to 20 million illegals if he would not have contributed to an "open borders" immigration when he was in the Senate. This is why Americans for Better Immigration gave him a grade of "C". America has had enough rhetoric from political hypocrites and corporate puppets. Stay on TV and stop "acting" like you're a conservative you fraud.

I agree in that Cuban migration forces the United States to divert its attention from real threats to national security. But in my opinion it is not the REFUGEES who cause this problem, it is the violent and absolute oppression of the Cuban people and the systematic violation of their basic human rights. Absent this totalitarian terror, Cubans would not EVER need to leave their homeland or cause problems for the US. But maybe thats what Castro intended all along. Btw, thank you for your service.
