This was the first release Ronnie did from Norman's studio. Also it was the first time Tommy Allsup played on a record by Ronnie. Also on this cut are the Roses singing backup, Bo Clarke on drums and Geo Atwood on bass. Best I remember Vi Petty was playing in the background. This cut took like 20 hours. Ronnie kept hitting a flat note at the end. Richard Porter (founder of the Poor Boys)
Sounds like the Ronnie Smith who sang with the Crickets and with the Poor Boys. Ronnie closed out the Winter Dance Party tour, joining the Crickets a couple of days after Buddy Holly died.

Never heard this super cool track before. I seem to love every version I hear of this song. Just shows that the song itself is fantastic.
Although he did not officially record it, I think Presley gave it the best delivery and the most attention on stage.
