It just depends on if you really want the HD option or not. I love my FX7's HD capabilities, especially for the price. Like I said, I would think about going with the VX2100 if you are looking for good low light.
I could not sell it to you and sleep at night. It is beat up with tape loading issues. I will use it as my backup camera. I had been using my Sony Hd1000U for a backup camera. Prob is that with good light the picture is amazing. BUT it gets grainy fast in low light. (It is a single chip camera.) I wanted to have an HD option, but no one is really asking for HD yet. You think maybe it is better to get another GL2 instead?
Honestly the FX7 is not very good in low light. I mean it's not completely horrible once you adjust the settings but it is kind of grainy. A really good low light camera is the Sony VX2100 if you are not looking to go the HD route. I personally love the GL2. Are you looking to sell it?
I need to retire my old Canon GL2. It was a great old workhorse and did a fine job in low light. How well does this camera (Sony FX7) handle low light? For example, the first dance in a dimly lit hall?
