Correction: "I keep calling the mouth one shape, but really it's one object... they are separate shapes connected or joined shapes. The mouth object sits on only one layer." jg

A quick explanation of how I set up a character in Anime
Studio Pro 7 and animate them using point level animation. A great way to add stretch and squash to your characters.

If you find this explanation helpful then please comment so that I know to make more. I could also make some more detailed tutorials.

Thank you for watching.=)

  • the best wAY TO START CREATING YOUR CHARACTER'S PHYSICAL PARTS IS TO USE ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS4 OR 5 OR LOWER IN LAYERS....THEN YOU SAVE THEM ALL AS INDIVIDUAL IN PNG FILE FORMAT THEN IMPORT ALL THOSE IN ANIME STUDIO PRO 7 I DID IT AND IT'S BETTER BECAUSE PHOTOSHOP HAS BETTER COLORING TOOLS AND SUCH...

  • @lilmtdgang95 using PNGs does work out well ...until you need the character to turn in a 360 movement. If you build a rig with vector shapes that you can stretch, squash and transform the parts to get effect. You can use the same shapes in your rig for any pose you can want your character to have. For limited character movement I think it's fine to use PNGs. It just depends on the result you are going for with your animation.

  • no its possibe to do that in flash

  • @Marialroblox Awesome! I would really like to see how. Do you know of any tutorials? As far as I know you can shape tween a shape but you have to have one pretty simple shape per layer. The more you move the points around the more it freaks out and forgets beginning and end points. Adding shape hints just seems to complicate things more. I like and use flash too, would like see a tutorial on it if you have a link. Thanks in advance. =)

  • Rodmaster144, I'll make a quick animation tutorial to help ya out.

  • Hi Naughtonizers. Very good question. Animating points you can do in Debut, I'm not sure about some of the shading effects.. since I dont have Debut I'm not certain about final rendering. But you should be good to try this same technique in Anime Studio Debut.
