On Sept 27th, Apple released version 1.1.1 of the firmware for the iPhone that resulted in making it impossible to use third party applications like the Navizon GPS and making your phone totally unusable if it had been unlocked.
When I look at the ad that Apple ran during the superbowl 1984, I can't help but think: "what a difference a few years make..."
I'm loving all the Apple hate. What the hell were they thinking? Apple has never ever been free thinking or the better alternative, I'm glad more people are finding this out, but unfortunately it's the hard way.

Sure let Apple and AT &T take a huge gamble on the iPhone, and then let other cell phone carriers and 3rd party hackers that didn't take any risk profit off of it.
Sure looks like Communist style free market oppression in the ad you parody to me.

SPOT ON OP THANKS!!
this is exactly what had been on my mind. I was searching to see if someone had finally exploited this ad.
How did it get from "Phone Phreaking" kids who hacked AT+T with blueboxes , to ........manufacturing a phone whose locked service provider is among the largest consumer data patriot act personal information provider???
Look up Patriot act, Safe act, ACLU, etc. etc. Would love to hear your guys opinions. Thanks again cyrilhouri
