Sugar in the hold, is an old maritime work song used on steam ships in the 1880s. Jim Nelson, Black Irish Band member, sings lead here with the band backing him up in a very small club in their hometown of Sonora. . No mic's, just raw music from the vocal cords. Makes us all want to work on an old steam boat??? NOT!!! The song is on the band 15th CD album release, "Long Way to Tipperary" Go to CD Baby under Black Irish Band
