The montage using the music of "Coming Back to Me" was the best part of the movie. Very moving and deep, especially Charles Bronson's scenes. I'd almost say he deserved an Oscar nomination for this movie.

his suicide was symbolic of being locked out of the so called AMERICAN DREAM... simple hard work and the following the Golden Rule were thought to be the passport to a life of ease and happiness... after years of adhering to these principles, he took a real look at life, in particular, his... think about the barren landscape at the begginging and end of the film.... why does that represent to you? to the father? to Viggo? to his brother??? requires a little critical thinking

But one thing I wish I understood was why he committed suicide. Was it because he couldn't connect with his sons anymore? Was it because he felt old and lonely? That his wife was dead?

But one thing I didn't understand; why, when he spoke to his son for the last time, did he talk about something as ordinary as tightening the ceiling? Was it because he wanted to hear his son's voice one more time?

Charles Bronson's performance in this film is just brilliant and Oscar-worthy. His scenes during the Jefferson Airplane song.
