This is a demonstration on how to use subinterfaces to route DHCP using vlans. This project uses 1 Router, 3 Switches, and 3 Computers. Each switch is trunking all vlans.

  • There's no need to use the 'no shutdown' command in the Sub Interface... when you do it in the physical interface it drops all the sub int :P just saying....

  • @InsaneMetalSoldier Your correct, on the initial setup you do not need to bring the sub-interfaces up. Just a habit I guess.

    On the other hand if the configuration is already done, the sub-interface can be placed in shutdown mode, so i find its useful to make sure all ports are up.
