  • Would love to know your thoughts on the thermomix?

  • @littlemonstermaker, the Thermomix is a great machine, but is lacks the power of the blenders I have demonstrated. I have friends who own Thermomix's and they don't puree certain mixtures as smooth as these power blenders.

  • Did he say a thousand bucks on a blender??

  • After watching Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, I am seriously considering ordering the Breville blender used by the director. Have you tried comparing this blender to the Semaks?

  • Are you a vegan? I am really looking into becoming one because I already follow a very strict regiment as it is. I would love to look like you later in my life.

  • I LOVE my Vitamix and rarely ever have to use my tamper.. The Vitamix is just an absolute beast of a machine!

  • @macuser5555 I believe all the starbucks shops use blendtecs, at least in calgary (in Canada) they do, and seem to do a pretty good job. I guess people just find their favorite device and swear by it! I think they find an emotional attachment to their blender... like me ;)

  • @fcarabat I do like the Blendtec's Wildside Jar. Because it's wider it would be easy to pulverize larger foods. Funny though, I was at my favorite local coffeehouse today and they use Blendtec commercial blenders. They looked very nice!!! I asked the Barista about them and told her I was comparing both brands and she told me to go to Costco and buy a Vitamix. She wouldn't give Blendtec the time of day. I know both are great. Still weighing out the pros and cons. Thanks for your reply.

  • @macuser5555 sorry, i should have said, in most cases you won't need a tamper for the blendtec. I haven't tried using the blendtec for nutbutters, i'm sure you would need a tamper/spatula, no doubt about it. So far, I have yet to really need a tamper. blendtec is an awesome machine, it works for me best when compared to other blenders, and there really isn't any competition outside of the blendtec or vitamix :)

  • @fcarabat You're right about the Vitamix needing a Tamper, you're wrong about a Blendtec NOT needing one. If you have a Blendtec try making nut butters or anything "whole" like apples or fill the blender up with a lot of solid ingredients, you'll find yourself opening the lid and using a rubber spatula to push the food down. You know that's true. I'm still deciding on which blender to buy so I'm not a Vitamix fanboy, I just know the real truth about Blendtec NEEDING a tamper.

  • @talkal0t that's the part i don't like about the vitamix, is that you need a tamper to help it blend.. not so with a blendtec! :)

  • Breville 800 hemisphere puts the vita mix and blendtec to shame.
