  • I didn't say everyone was right, but most of what is debated is not a matter of faith. There are many positions that don't matter that some defend tooth and toenail. Salvation is by the grace of God, through faith in Christ's sacrifice for our sins and his resurrection as proof of his power over death. I may not believe in transubstantiation, but if someone believes in it, I'm not going to argue. However, I do have issues with how the Catholic church makes the priest the intercessor to God.

  • @nancejo I think your "feeling" is true in certain circumstances, but transubstantiation? Seriously? It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of and the Catholic church would execute everyone who denied it.

This "everyone is right" is such a load of nonsense. Christ even said that the gate is narrow and few find it.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC I have a feeling when Christ returns we're going to be ashamed when we find out how much we debate things that have nothing to do with salvation. Do you think really matters if someone believes in Transubstantiation or Consubstantiation? I like the verse 1 Cor 2:2 "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." That is what DTS taught me. There are many things to discuss, but to call one false or heritical is suspect.

  • @nancejo I have not. I did audit a seminary class at Capital Bible once but that's as far as it went. I study on my own for the time being. Perhaps I will change my mind and attend in the near future.

  • @FAITHandLOGIC - Dispensationalism is not a doctrine. It is not a matter of faith. It is a hermaneutic used to interpret prophecy. Since prophecy is not my focus, I never had a problem with dispensationalism. If you want a great, faith-based seminary education then DTS is a great place to go. You are not required to accept or defend dispensationalism to go there. All methods for understanding prophecy have their problems.

BTW - Did you get an MDiv or ThM anywhere?

  • @makarov138 Not being touchey....Let me make my position clear...Im a FORMER dispie who has come to the conclusion that Mr.Demers is right.Theres NOT going to be a rapture....The Jews rejected thier messiah and they had to leave Israel....In 1948 some apostate, athiestic Jews called Zionists took back the land by force...It WASNT God that told them they could.

  • @thyman01 So! To even say anything that might be considered negative about Israel makes one a anti-semite? So if I say my government makes wrong decisions occasionally then that make me anti-american? I don't think so! Me thinks you are too touchey!

  • @boatklicko anti-semite? of course! You can't argue the points, so you start with the labels.

  • @AmericanConcrete So is the Futurist position. Historicist is the truth.

  • Dispensationalism is a false doctrine. I would never get my Masters of Divinity or Theology at Dallas.
