@ggbmbr Encourage them to be suspicious of strangers but relax once you tell them the person is "OK". Hire someone to sneak around your fence, home, car acting suspiciously and when the dog barks at them you reward them and exhort them enthusiastically. I have done this with several pups that became decent watchdogs(not serious protection dogs) but be advised that some dogs will take it upon themselves to bite someone who acts weird enough once the take protecting their people seriously.

I have NEVER seen a collie doing schutzhund. didn't think it had the drives for it. Obedience, yes, but not bite work. Dog seems to be trained purely in prey dirve, not defenisve drive, but this is ver, very, very impressive!

This is impressive, what would i have to do in order to train my border collie to protect (snap, growl, snarl--NOT BITE) on command, i plan on walking by myself and i'm quite petite, i would like to train my dog to deter anyone from approaching me in a threatening manner
