A vast majority of my favorite bands lose their 'raw edge' when they stop doing so many drugs/being alcoholics. I appreciate everyone being happy and sober, but it does put a downer on the music most of the time.
I'm not saying that it isn't good for them as people to be sober and clean. I'm glad that they are happy and clean, it's better for you in so many ways. But it isn't coincidence.
Maybe it has to do with, when they are drunk and drugged they don't give a fuck and just make their music, and when they are sober they end up wanting to please people more than themselves?
