I was wondering why the sound was off. It's cuz you synched the shot with the sound when in reality it's the only part where the sound isn't supposed to match the picture. lol

the german snipers was in the dark on tower of temple, so americans could not see him there
the americans were on a good visible place
a good tactical sniper kills the leader of team first or the child to confuse the enemies and make them angry to make mistakes
or
operates some earlier implanted bomb
but this is the higher level - this is sabotage

The thru-the-scope shot that inspired the SPR scene, from a duel of master snipers at the Battle of Stalingrad, very likely never happened & was simply Soviet propaganda. However, Carlos Nathan Hathcock claimed to have pulled the trick on an NVA sniper, & he was certainly good enough to have done it. Hey, am I the only one to think that SPR is chock-o-block full of tactical errors? The American sniper was far more visible & vulnerable than the German. Great film, anyhow.
