This tutorial demonstrates wet felting using a washing machine, nylon stockings, and other tricks of the trade as well as how to embellish your wool felt ball with colored wool batting and needle felting techniques.
@wilwork4food You can use essential oils if your using it in your dryer. Just put some drops on, wait 10 minutes and throw into the dryer. Put more on when needed!

What a wonderful tutorial! Thank you. How can I make a scented one?

Can you use a front loading washing machine or just a top loading machine to felt the balls, and do you use wool wash or can you use your regular powder to wash in?

So can these be used in your dryer? Or are they more just for toy balls?

I used to do this with dyed wool so they were rainbow balls, they were perfect for my preschool kids. We used mostly natural materials for our toys, wood etc. Even our dolls were stuffed with carded wool, we let the kids card wool with cat brushes.

HOw about turning the nylon inside out so you don't get the seam line on the ball.

I used the stocking technique and put it in the washer (but not in a pillow case) and the fibers stuck to the nylon and it was a bugger to get the ball out of the nylon. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the educational video. I've been researching this for dryer purposes and think your tutorial was excellent.
