As MN Neighborhoods Organizing for Change prepares to host a public meeting with the Metropolitan Council, community organizer Michael McDowell spent a day asking public transit riders what change they want in our current system.

Saturday May 10th from 2-3:30pm
at the NOC office at 911 W Broadway Ave N
and let your voice be heard.

As concerns from Kenwood residents about light rail in their neighborhood dominate discussion of the proposed new SWLRT line, the needs of low-income transit riders have been largely absent from the public conversation. During this panel discussion, transit riders will speak directly to Met Council members about how to make SWLRT equitable for low-income communities and communities of color.

Transit rider panelists will speak about the need for better and faster bus service through their communities that connects to light rail, lower fares, and amenities like bus shelters and heaters.
