Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officer Injures Teen

Warning: Language contained in this video may be objectionable to some people. A handcuffed Kalamazoo teenager struggles with a Public Safety officer as he is led down a hallway toward a booking room when the officer shoves him into a wall, injuring his face.

The city of Kalamazoo released video of the May 22 incident after the Kalamazoo Gazette filed a Freedom of Information Act request. The officer involved, Derek Nugent, has been placed on a 10-day, unpaid suspension.

you have to see entire video, not just what media shows. Yeah so I guess the suspect can, punch, spit in officers face, threaten to kill the officer, and just get away with slap on the wrist. The picture aint pretty when seen from the other side. I dont condone officers doing what was done here, but the mentality has to change. He wouldnt be in this position if it werent for the teen extreme behavior....

I feel ashamed that we have this in our country. For as much as we criticize Europe and other country's police tactics, look at what we are doing here at home. Not that the other countries dont deserve our help, the civilians do, but we have to protect ourselves first. Espcially our children they seem to be the least safe nowadays.
