@TheAlanShelley uh . . . Judahite. :) He wasn't a Jew because the establishment hated him when he preached. Jesus was preaching something *new* and against the Sanhedrin's accepted theology. The word "Jew" connotes a person who believes in a particular religion, not an ethnic group. :) Although I am aware that's confusing because many so called Jews today are atheists.
