I knew it was fake the whole time. Great lesson. I'm saying that as a hearing person. You all need to stop freaking out. His point is it hurts some deaf people when hearing families force their children to hear without their consent. No need to get your knickers in a twist.

Once you reach a certain age, language specific neurons in the brain deteriorate and auditory processing is merely impossible. The lack of experience with articulatory cues and prosody makes processing language difficult and stressful.
