That very scene where Bodie realizes that he's always been a pawn in this game, McNulty is right, Bodie's a soldier. The Game Bodie was in was rigged, indeed.

I was thinking the same thing. He gave him mad respect in that scene. He is one of the very few cops (I have met a few here and there) who actually understands that its all rigged. From the cops and the crooks to the politicians and the political process. Its all fucking rigged.

Bodie was murdered by a TYRANT. Even Chris had better sense than to just kill the man behind a little scenario Monk said he'd seen. He tells Marlo, 'yeah but we aint sure its that'...and then Marlo says.'you want to let it go?'.The kind of thing Bodie was talking about was 'being taken for granted', the caliber of soldier Bodie was-by the time he was killed he had deserved far more than he ever was permitted by those of rank. Wallace wasnt even on the same page as that..his end was just similar

Wallace was murdered for talking to the police as was Bodie! Yes, Bodie was a soldier but he was murdered for the same reason that he and Poot took out Wallace! KARMA IS A BITCH AIN'T IT! "The game is rigged, Man!"

Wallace aint no kind of example of this.....Wallace's murder was tragic, yeah, but it had nothing to do with what he's talking about here...shit-not even in a vague sense. Wallace died because he made a stupid mistake and didn't stay put..he was scott free til he came back to the projects..thats not the game, thats just a personal thing he was unable to keep in check. ****SPOILER*** Nick Sobatka does the same thing in season 5, except you never see what or if anything happens to him.

Maybe. But I think McNulty showed enough respect and affection for Bodie throughout the series for him to mean it.
